It Takes a Strong Person to Allow Their Scars to Tell Their Life Story

Washington, DC, October, 2014 --  As a survivor of impulsive adult bullying, author and public speaker Ebony “Survival Story” Canion, invites us on an entrancing journey that chronicles the horrors faced as she was Left for Dead. She sheds light on being a survivor of molestation, rape, domestic abuse, and recovering from a series of negative life choices. Ebony Canion, a Cleveland, Ohio native, is no stranger to adversity. In fact, countless traumatic experiences from her childhood to becoming an adult has molded her to be the  strong woman she is now.

On June 30, 2012, Canion’s strength was tested more than ever before. She was intentionally ran over by a speeding car and then dragged for almost two hundred feet with her body folded underneath the vehicle.

Canion recovered from being in a coma for nearly two months. She endured over thirty life threatening injuries, including: a collapsed lung, seven broken ribs, broken legs, broken pelvis, fractured shoulder and jaw. The skin on her back and left side of her face was ripped off from road burn. The doctors told her family Ebony would be a vegetable and would NEVER walk again; however, Canion’s faith proved otherwise. For trying to stop an altercation that fateful night the unforeseeable tragedy would change her life forever. Ebony Canion, 34, was “Left for Dead.”

Ebony’s book “LEFT FOR DEAD”, released on February 4, 2014, gives readers a glimpse into Canion’s world, showing despite her many obstacles, she will NEVER be defeated. Infused with the intensity of a woman fighting for her life, here is a story of hope, heartbreak, and love. It’s combined with the courage that transforms a widow and rape victim— to a survivor, from a wounded woman to an indomitable woman. In this no-holds barred memoir, Ebony realizes her own strength as readers are granted an intimate look at the recovery of Ebony Canion while she deals with past family discord, the psychological and emotional adjustments that need to occur during her attempt to reclaim a sense of normalcy.
